You recently watched a news broadcast extolling the virtues of electronic commerce and the fortunes that have been made in this new form of commerce. The report mentioned such companies as Indigo.ca and HBC.com. You are interested in learning more about these companies and would also like to learn more about other popular Internet-based stores.

This activity contains 2 questions.

	Besides the companies mentioned above, identify and investigate five additional Canadian e-commerce sites. For each of the seven companies, locate the company’s stock symbol and current selling price. This information is easily located on the Web.   To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

	Assume you want to purchase 10 shares of each company’s stock. Create a spreadsheet that lists the following information: stock name, stock symbol, number of shares for each stock purchased, purchase price per share, total investment for each stock, and overall total investment. You should also create a pie chart that compares the total investment for each stock. After one week, check each stock’s current value. Have any stocks gained value? Have any stocks lost value? Modify your spreadsheet to include these findings. Prepare a report for your instructor. In this report, discuss your findings regarding each company and your stock investment.
