Managers throughout the world have discovered that they can boost sales and productivity by improving the relationships between their people and their machines (including computers). Today, human factors engineers apply the principles of ergonomic design to ensure that the interface between people and their machines is safe, comfortable, effective, and efficient.

This activity contains 5 questions.

Until recently, the workplace was among the last places managers looked to improve productivity, morale, safety, and profitability. Today, however, ergonomics has emerged as a keyword for making workplace design a major thrust in corporations. Find an article, project description/results, or a corporate case study that discusses or illustrates the importance of ergonomics in the workplace.
