Buyer’s Guide
In today’s collegiate world, it is beneficial to own a computer. However, most college students have limited budgets. Thus the dilemma: Computers are needed, but funds are limited. However, one consideration is to buy an older-model computer that is still adequate but does not have all the latest advancements. There are companies that sell new computers that are no longer the most advanced version.
Your task is to find out what types of older computers can be bought over the Internet. Include such information as type of hardware, processing speed, storage devices, and amount of memory. Is the computer purchased as a unit or as components? Make a decision in regard to the usability of this particular computer for college life. What type of software can be loaded? Also, what are the savings from buying a slightly older computer? Is it a desktop machine or laptop? Defend your position. Write about at least three different computers you find for purchase on the Internet.
