Because operating systems work closely with the computer's hardware and application programs, all of these components must be designed to work together harmoniously. This means that all application programs must be designed to work with a specific operating system. In this project you will create a PowerPoint presentation that compares office suites available for different operating systems – StarOffice for Linux and Microsoft Office for Windows.
Each of these office suites maintains a Web site; use these Web sites and any other Web sites you would like. The StarOffice Web site can be found at www.sun.com/staroffice/. The Microsoft Office Web site can be found at www.microsoft.com/office/.
Your presentation will need to address the questions below.

- Determine whether the software is commercial, shareware, or freeware.
- What types of licenses are available for each of the office suites?
- What distribution methods are used for each of the office suites?
